We accept students at their own levels and prepare them for living in society through instruction and work experience. Guidance and direction is given not only in skills but also in attitudes and lifestyles that will help students toward life-long productivity.

NFVTC is a 4,500 square foot facility conveniently located between Kenai and Soldotna on K- Beach Road.  We have 21 computer workstations and a lecture/study room, a breakroom/classroom with tables, microwave and refrigerator.  Our location provides easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and housing. Housing is available to qualified students.

In 2010, New Frontier celebrated twenty-five years of successful training on the Kenai Peninsula. NFVTC does not discriminate because of race, ethnic origin, sex, age, political affliation, religious beliefs, or disabling conditions.

AEC and Building Hope Construction - Website

NFVTC is a department of Amundsen Educational Center (AEC), which is a faith-based vocational training school incorporated in 1996. AEC first developed Building Hope Construction to train rural students in the building trades. In 2002, AEC became authorized through the Alaska Commission of Postsecondary Education to provide graduates with a one year Diploma in Residential Construction, and a second year Diploma in Advanced Residential Construction. In January 2008, AEC acquired New Frontier Vocational Technical Center.

Career Skills Institute - Website

CSI is committed to a comprehensive career guidance model utilizing recognized state and community resources which support workforce development for 14-21 year olds. Resources from the Workforce Investment Act are funding CSI to address needs of young people in our community.

CSI helps young people get jobs. CSI guides youth in discovering which jobs best fit their interests and experience. Then CSI assists them in looking for employment, and gives support once they are hired. If a young person has little or no job experience, we can help him or her gain that experience through job shadowing or an employment experience, paid for by CSI. The hope is that these steps will lead to successful long-term employment.
